Pairi Daiza’s Immersive Underwater Experience close to Manatees.

Pairi Daiza presents a new unique experience

On 18 May, Pairi Daiza is opening reservations for the Manatee Cove: eight fully submerged rooms integrated directly into the manatees’ habitat. It is a unique experience worldwide, allowing guests to spend the night face-to-face with these gentle animals in a completely subaquatic environment. The new offering reflects Pairi Daiza’s continued evolution towards immersive stays, where observing wildlife becomes a longer and more meaningful experience.

The manatees at Pairi Daiza belong to the Caribbean species (Trichechus manatus), classified as “Vulnerable” by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). They are a rare sight in European zoological parks. Their presence in Edenya is part of European conservation and breeding programmes.

The group has recently grown to three individuals with the arrival of Alùs, a two-and-a-half-year-old male from Poland, who now joins Cuango and Ambroży. More individuals are expected to be introduced progressively as part of a coordinated European breeding programme.

While Edenya, the tenth world of Pairi Daiza, has been open to visitors since 7 February, the opening of the Manatee Cove was intentionally delayed to ensure the animals’ welfare. Cuango, Ambroży and Alùs were transported under optimal conditions and have now acclimatised to their new habitat, including a large 4,000 m³ freshwater basin.

This milestone now allows visitors to stay the night in eight rooms inspired by a submerged Mayan city: mosaics, stone textures, murals, golden lighting and warm tones create a calm, immersive atmosphere designed as an underwater sanctuary.

209 accommodations and 15 immersive experiences

With the launch of the Manatee Cove, the Pairi Daiza Resort currently offers 209 accommodations, including 88 in Edenya. The Park also provides 15 different immersive experiences: close to Brown, Polar or Black bears, Siberian tigers, walruses, jaguars, farm animals, sharks, Steller sea lions, Giant otters, tapirs, Squirrel monkeys, Pygmy hippos or penguins.

At Pairi Daiza, overnight guests benefit from privileged access to the Park: from 9 a.m. (one hour before public opening) and after closing time, including nighttime access in several worlds reserved exclusively for residents.

A stay in the Manatee Cove (2 days / 1 night, including evening meal and breakfast, Park access and parking) starts from €244 per person (based on 2 adults and 2 children in low season). Prices vary depending on the period, group composition and selected options. Each 35 m² room can accommodate up to 4 adults, 1 child and 1 baby, making it suitable for families seeking a rare immersive experience.

A 10% discount is available for holders of a valid Pairi Daiza Membership Card.

From 22 May, the first guests will be able to live this experience.

The Garden of the Worlds

In the heart of Europe, Belgium is home to a sanctuary unlike any other: Pairi Daiza, a place where humanity gathers around the pursuit and celebration of beauty. Spread across 80 hectares, this extraordinary garden allows visitors to journey across continents and civilizations in just one or a few days.

Rare animals thrive here in harmony, centuries-old trees and fragile plants stand in dialogue with remarkable architectures from across the globe and the Earth’s mineral treasures. Within the ancient Abbey walls, precious stones from across the globe find their place, Brazilian amethysts, Chinese jade, native copper from Michigan, and intricate Pietra Dura mosaics, timeless reminders that beauty knows no borders and no end.

Repeatedly named “Best Zoo in Europe” and celebrated by leading international travel guides, Pairi Daiza has become Belgium’s top tourist destination. A visit goes far beyond the concept of a zoo. It is a living work of art, a transformative space where nature, culture, and humanity converge. Each year, millions of visitors step through its gates, leaving not only enchanted but also inspired, their hearts stirred with a renewed commitment to protect life in all its forms.
