Pairi Daiza reinvests revenues in its development

In 2025, Pairi Daiza recorded a net profit of €14 million and invested €118.2 million in new worlds, accommodation and infrastructure. This represents more than eight euros of investment for every euro of net profit.

Long-term projects are financed partly through loans, which are repaid over time. Key investments during the financial year included:

  • the completion of Edenya, Pairi Daiza’s tenth world, representing a total investment of more than €215 million, the world's largest covered tropical garden,
  • the continuation of construction of the future water park, the Park’s eleventh world;
  • the renovation of iconic buildings, including the Izba in The Land of The Cold and the Tea House in The Middle Kingdom;
  • the expansion of the semi-precious stone collection.
“We could have been satisfied with what has already been achieved, but we chose to keep building. Pairi Daiza reinvests its results into new worlds, better infrastructure, jobs and nature conservation. For more than thirty years, this has been our guiding principle: what grows here must continue to create value for visitors, employees and society.” Eric Domb, Chairman and Founder of Pairi Daiza

Growth in German and international visitors

Belgium remained Pairi Daiza’s largest source market in 2025, with Belgian visitor numbers increasing by 6.4%. Visitors from France increased by 6.6%, while German visitor numbers rose by 41.8%, Luxembourg by 30.5% and visitors from other countries by 25%.

Pairi Daiza is now open year-round. In 2025 the Pairi Daiza Resort received for the first time the title „Bester Ferienpark Europas“ from German travel professionals.

The increase comes as German leisure destinations are increasingly developing from day-trip attractions into short-break destinations. German industry association VDFU reports more than 15 million domestic trips generated annually by leisure and experience attractions, including around 5.5 million overnight stays in park-owned accommodation; German business media has identified this shift from day visits to short holidays as a growth driver for the sector.

Pairi Daiza’s growth in the German market takes place against this broader shift. With year-round opening and an expanding resort offer, the Park increasingly operates in the same multi-day destination segment.

Economic impact

In 2025, Pairi Daiza employed 536.8 full-time equivalents.

According to the most recent independent study, conducted by EKLO, SEGEFA-ULiège and HEC Consulting Group using 2024 data, Pairi Daiza generated approximately €145 million in economic spin-off and €125 million in fiscal and parafiscal revenues. The study identified 3,167 direct and indirect jobs in Belgium. The majority of these jobs are location based and cannot be replaced by Artificial Intelligence.

Investing in biodiversity and scientific research worldwide

Pairi Daiza’s growth also supports wildlife conservation beyond the Park. In 2025, the Pairi Daiza Foundation allocated €875.677 to 75 biodiversity, wildlife protection and scientific research projects around the world. Supported by more than 6,700 donors, these initiatives span five continents and include species conservation, habitat restoration, wildlife rescue and research designed to improve the protection and reproduction of threatened animals.

This commitment is reinforced by the development of a new reproductive endocrinology laboratory at Pairi Daiza by Dr. Jella Wauters formerly working at the Leibniz-Institut für Zoo- und Wildtierforschung (IZW). The laboratory will support scientific research and breeding programmes by analysing hormones and reproductive cycles, helping specialists better understand and manage the reproduction of threatened species, including elephants, giraffes and giant pandas.

The Foundation’s work reflects the same long-term approach that guides the development of Pairi Daiza itself: investing today in projects capable of delivering lasting benefits for animals, nature and future generations. Through partnerships with conservation organisations, scientists and local communities, Pairi Daiza contributes financial resources, scientific capacity and zoological expertise to international efforts to preserve biodiversity.
